In Conversation With is a series of free online talks with inspiring players. Hosted by our Chair Lisa Nelsen, each month we invite a special guest for a candid conversation about all things flute - from their careers and projects to technique and advice. The talks are held on Zoom, with a chance for audience questions.

Members can watch the conversations back here in the members’ area any time.
#1 In Conversation With: Adam Walker
At the forefront of a new generation of wind soloists, Adam was appointed principal flute of the London Symphony Orchestra at the age of just 21. Graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2009, he became a professor at the Royal College of London in 2017. As a soloist he regularly performs with major UK orchestras as well as orchestras across the world. In 2018 he launched the wind chamber group Orsino Ensemble and has just released his first recital disc with Chandos records, French Works for Flute.
Watch the talk to hear Adam’s reflections and advice on subjects such as:
his journey to a career in music from a humble start

— and more!
